Well, apart from the type of uniforms, their colors also help us determine people with their professions. For instance, the camouflage colored uniform helps us identify a soldier, while the white colored clothes help us determine doctors, nurses and the healthcare workers working in the hospitals. Hence, it is extremely essential to have an appropriate uniform of the right color to suit your profession rightly.
Nurses, over several years have always been known of wearing the traditional white tops and skirts in the hospitals. Although the basic reason and motive of wearing these white skirts in the hospitals by the nurses is not known. But in the recent times, the white colored uniform of doctors and nurses has been widely accepted all across the world as the traditional medical uniform. It is believed that the color simply matches to the caring nature executed by the nurses and the healthcare workers in the hospitals and hence is believed to be the ideal color for hospital executives. However with the passing time, certain diversities in the ideas of these garments have been accepted and also used by medical people all across the world. As a result, nurses in today's world have their personal choice on the type of hospital uniform they wish to wear. Hence, they can now select between the conventional white colored uniforms and the nursing scrubs. Some hospitals in today's time prefer the colored printed scrubs for the nurses in order to add a refreshing feeling amongst the patients in the hospitals. Scrubs are mainly the defined as the on duty uniforms of the nurses and are soon becoming one of the most preferred uniforms amongst the nurses of various hospitals all across the world. Here are a few basic reasons why nurses today prefer wearing the scrubs as compared to the general uniforms.
• Believed to be more or less similar to aprons, scrubs cover the entire body of the nurses. In the hospitals, the nurses are usually exposed to varying tasks and the infectious biological fluids of different patients. A white dress in such conditions may get stained or even infected, thus forcing the nurses to change their uniform in every shift.
• The white colored uniforms may indicate professionalism but somehow may affect the patients and nurse relationship. It is also believed that many patients nowadays may love to see their nurses in refreshing colors other than white.
• White uniforms should be thick and of good quality in order to avoid their see through feature. Most nurses feel uncomfortable wearing the white uniforms mainly due to this reason.
As a result, the choice between the white uniforms and the scrubs varies based on the personal requirements of all nurses.
